Beginning my '365: Project-A-Day' to Enhance My Home

Starting today...my '365 ~ Project-A-Day' plan launches - painting something in my home everyday…such as a wall, a door, a cabinet door, a window sill…the objective being color therapy…bringing mood enhancing color into my surroundings (covering up the preexisting bland off-white walls, cabinets, trim, etc…one by one…piece by piece).
The idea is to take this on in creative baby steps, rather than feeling overwhelmed by taking on too much and doing nothing…which is my usual MO. I’ll call it my “365 Day – Color & Home Transformation Project.”.
As long as I paint something each day, even if it’s half a wall, or one cabinet door, I will give myself credit for taking action. I have some blinds that need hanging too, all through the house (currently taking up garage space). So if I actually manage to hang a blind on a given day, rather than painting something…this qualifies as a home betterment move, thus fulfilling the day’s project goal.
I will post periodic updates on my progress here on my blog. So here goes!
This whole idea was inspired by Paul Overton, Director of Artist Relations at Duke Universitywho interviewed Noah Scalin about his new book 365: A Creativity Journal. Noah's book can act as a valuable tool for anybody who is thinking about starting their own “every day” project. This is all about 'YOU' producing something on a daily basis, and the perks, surprises, and benefits that come along as a result.
